The question of what size you wear is not limited to shopping at Ummah Couture, lets be serious we buy one size in one store but another size in a second store. The truth is if you are shopping in the United States the standard sizes are not quite standard. You don't have to take our word for it go to New York Times to read an article from April 24, 2011: One Size Fits Nobody: Seeking a Steady 4 or 10 by Stephenie Clifford.

So how does this relate to Ummah Couture, it means that on average because of what the clothing industry has done most people don't know what size and I can attest to this myself so what we have tried to do at Ummah Couture is provide standard sizes based upon your bust size in Inches.
So if you are looking at the sizing chart and see 38 this means that the shirt when measured flat measures 38 inches in the bust and is recomended for the bust range of 36-37. Now how to know exactly what is the best size for you. Find a tape measurer and over your cloths measure across the largest part of your bust. If that number is an odd number round up to the next even number therefore if you measure 35 inches round up to 36 and if you measure an even number add 2 therefore if you measure 36 inches add 2 to get 38. This would be your size for a slim fitting kurti. A kurti which is form fitting but if you are looking for a looser fit then you want to go up one size up from your slim fit for what we would like to call comfort fit.
These measurements are very important because another factor that is important to consider is that most of cloths in retail stores have a bit of stretch to them. So if you pick up a long sleeve T-Shirt you can probably fit into it with a large range of sizes because of the knit nature of the fabric. All the fabrics which we currently offer at Ummah Couture are Crepe or Cotton none knits which don't allow for any stretch and as such it is of utmost importance for you to find your correct size before ordering. Our sizes are similar to European sizes with only a slight difference.
We hope this has been informative and that insh'allah this helps to clarify confusions.
